On 2 October 2026, partners from five European countries met in Berlin for the kick-off meeting of Mind Your Money – Financial Behaviour for VET Learners, a new Erasmus+ project that helps vocational learners build healthier and more confident financial habits.
The meeting was hosted by the project coordinator, TSA-Teaching and Skills Academy. It brought together the full partnership: Itaka Edu Lab (Italy), Edu Playground (Bulgaria), FPEI (Malta) and Branta Desarrollo (Spain).
Why this project matters
Many learners in vocational education and training face financial pressure, irregular income and low confidence in managing money. This affects their wellbeing, their training and their path into work. Mind Your Money responds with practical, behaviour-focused tools rather than abstract financial theory, with a special focus on learners with fewer opportunities.
What we worked on
During the meeting, partners:
- reviewed the project’s objectives, timeline and expected results
- agreed on roles and responsibilities for each work package
- discussed the structure of the Financial Behaviour Curriculum, the Trainer and Mentor Pack and the Digital Budget Lab
- set out the first steps for communication and dissemination
- agreed on quality, monitoring and reporting procedures
What comes next
Work now moves on to designing the curriculum framework and the six learning modules: budgeting and planning, saving, digital finance, irregular income, debt and safe financial choices, and financial goals. In the coming months the partners will develop the learning materials, which will later be tested with VET learners, teachers and mentors in all five countries.
